R1234yf is a pure hydrofluoroolefin (HFO), with low GWP, developed to abide by the provisions of Regulation (EC) no. 517, aiming at decreasing HFC refrigerant gas GWP. It is especially used in automotive air-conditioning.
R1234yf was developed as a replacement for R-134a in the automotive sector, but it has also been used in other HFC blends for several applications in other sectors over time.
R1234yf is a flammable refrigerant (Safety Class A2L).
Ecologically, R1234yf is a gas featuring ultra-low GWP (4) and zero ODP.
