R404A is a near-azeotropic hydrofluorocarbon blend (HFC), consisting of R125 + R143a + R134a, which may be used in a wide range of applications in commercial and industrial refrigeration and refrigerated transport.
R404A is a non-flammable refrigerant (Safety Class A1).
R404A is used in applications for the operation of cold storage rooms, refrigerated counters, refrigerated display cases, ice-cream and ice-making machines, water refrigerators and refrigerated transport.
Ecologically, R404A is a gas featuring high GWP (3922) and zero ODP.

Based on the EC Regulation 517/2014 art 13. Point 3) the use of fluorinated greenhouse gases with global warming potential equal to or greater than 2,500 for the assistance or maintenance of refrigeration equipment with a refrigeration load size equal to or greater than 40 tons of equivalent CO2 is prohibited.
