CYCLOPENTANE is a min. 95% pure cyclic-hydrocarbon (HC), which has long been used as a blowing agent.
CYCLOPENTANE is especially used in the polyurethane foaming process – particularly with rigid polyurethane. Its use ensures good foaming performance as it provides finished products with several features which are characteristic properties of this gas.
CYCLOPENTANE is a flammable liquid with low GWP (5) and zero ODP.
CYCLOPENTANE is also a component of a few blends used in various applications.
As a petroleum product, CYCLOPENTANE is included in the energy product category and a special excise duty policy therefore applies thereto.
